Fiona Gibson
Biography
Fiona obtained her First Class integrated Master’s degree in Chemistry from Lancaster University (UK) in 2023. Her Master’s research was carried out under the supervision of Dr Michael Peach and focused on developing diagnostics for ‘measuring’ the electron correlation in Electronic Structure Theory.
Fiona was then awarded a PhD position funded by Eutopia at the University of Warwick in collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) under the supervision of Dr. Mark Greenhalgh (Warwick), Prof. Dr. Mercedes Alonso (VUB) and Prof. Dr. Frank De Proft (VUB). Fiona’s PhD studies aim to use both experimental and computational methods synergistically to develop a deeper understanding of chalcogen and halogen bonding, in the context of catalysis.
